BJP slams Mamata over Durgapur gang-rape case, attacks Lalu family on IRCTC scam
Reacting to the gang-rape case in Durgapur, BJP leader Tarun Chugh criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for allegedly covering up violence against women through victim shaming. He accused her of undermining the state’s people by allowing the blood of its daughters and sons to stain the soil. Chugh called the government’s response a reflection of a “Jihadi mindset.”
Chugh also condemned Mamata for suggesting that women should stay confined instead of taking decisive action. He demanded stronger measures to protect victims and stop protecting criminals.
Chugh commented on the ongoing IRCTC scam case, calling it another example of corruption under Lalu Prasad Yadav’s leadership, accusing his family of enriching themselves at the public’s expense. The case involves alleged irregularities in awarding contracts for hotel maintenance when Lalu was the Railway Minister.
