BN to announce candidates for Sabah state election ahead of Nov 15 nominations

Barisan Nasional (BN) is set to announce its candidates for the 17th Sabah State Election one week before nomination day, said its chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He stated that BN will not contest all 73 seats but will focus on specific areas.

Ahmad Zahid emphasized that BN aims to win every seat it contests, following its loss in the 2020 election. He also confirmed that BN will not work with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in this election, but acknowledged the need for political cooperation to form a state government.

The Election Commission has set polling for November 29, with nominations on November 15 and early voting on November 25.
