BNP protests in Faridpur seek Azad arrest

Bangladesh Nationalist Party members marched through Faridpur on Thursday to demand that authorities detain former independent legislator AK Azad. The protesters carried torches from Heliport Bazar and concluded their demonstration at Mohim Institution, where local party officials delivered speeches. Leaders accused Azad of organizing Awami League supporters and plotting to disrupt parliamentary elections scheduled for later this year. Similar protests occurred in Ambikapur union as activists expressed frustration that government officials have not acted against associates of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
