BNP’s Kader Gani urges unity for polls
Bangladesh Nationalist Party official Kader Gani Chowdhury appealed to citizens on Thursday to support his organization’s sheaf of paddy symbol ahead of elections scheduled for early February. The assistant secretary spoke at a rally in Fatikchhari, where thousands gathered at the Talimuddin Madrasa ground by mid-afternoon. He promoted the party’s 31-point reform platform as a solution to restore democratic governance and address longstanding political problems.
Chowdhury said acting chairman Tarique Rahman wants to create a nation where residents live peacefully, free from rights violations. The politician distributed materials outlining the party’s proposals at Bibirhat Market after addressing supporters. He argued that authoritarian rule and corruption have undermined democratic expectations since independence. The reform agenda identifies these challenges and outlines plans to establish lasting democratic structures under the leadership of chairperson Khaleda Zia.
