Body of hiker Mustaqqeem Mansoor recovered from Gunung Liang summit

The body of 34-year-old hiker Mustaqqeem Mansoor, who died on Gunung Liang near Tanjong Malim, was brought down today by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department’s Air Unit. The operation took place around 2.45 pm, using an AW189 helicopter.

The helicopter, which took off from the Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI), reached the summit and used a winching technique to lift Mustaqqeem’s body. It was then flown to UPSI and later transferred to Slim River Hospital for an autopsy.

Bad weather had delayed the first attempt to retrieve the body earlier in the morning. Mustaqqeem’s body was found on October 15 after he went hiking with friends on October 10.
