BPL fix probe ends, names still under wraps

Bangladesh Cricket Board received a 900-page investigation report on Tuesday examining match-fixing claims from the 2024-25 Bangladesh Premier League. The independent three-member committee spent nine months gathering evidence before delivering findings to officials who declined to release specific details or allegations.

Board president Aminul Islam Bulbul said investigators will eventually disclose the names of individuals involved in the probe. The organization received preliminary findings in September before accepting the complete document that provides guidance beyond the league inquiry. Officials have already started implementing recommendations from the earlier submission.

The board established the Bangladesh Cricket Board Integrity Unit, with Alex Marshall appointed as independent chairman. Marshall began work leading the new oversight body responsible for addressing corruption concerns. Bulbul said the integrity unit holds authority to determine whether players named in the report can participate in the upcoming league season, rather than board administrators making those decisions directly.
