Bruce Springsteen saves family from fire

Bruce Springsteen provided shelter to director Scott Cooper and his family after they lost their home in the Los Angeles wildfires. The 76-year-old musician opened his residence to the filmmaker, who directs the upcoming biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. Cooper told People magazine that Springsteen also sent a guitar to his daughter Stella after hers was destroyed in the fire.

Cooper received news of the fire while working with actor Jeremy Allen White, who portrays Springsteen in the film. He described spending five minutes crying after learning his family’s life had changed forever. The family faced additional hardship when they had to euthanize their dog one week after losing their home.

Cooper said his daughters, Ava and Stella, showed remarkable strength through the crisis. The director called it the worst year of his life while acknowledging meaningful aspects. Deliver Me From Nowhere opens on Friday, October 24, 2025.
