Bruce Springsteen sequel could be in the works
Director Scott Cooper says Bruce Springsteen’s life contains enough material for multiple films beyond the recent biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, which depicts the rock legend creating his 1982 album Nebraska. Cooper told Variety that he and Springsteen have talked about additional projects, with the 76-year-old musician appearing receptive to more biographical films about different periods of his career.
Jeremy Allen White portrays Springsteen in the current production at age 34. The actor told The Hollywood Reporter he struggled to capture the private version of the performer rather than his public persona visible in concerts and interviews.
Cooper referenced the upcoming Beatles film series by Sam Mendes as precedent for multiple movies about a single artist. The director believes Springsteen enjoyed the filmmaking process and feels comfortable having painful life experiences portrayed cinematically.
