BUBT celebrates Teachers’ Day with tribute to educators and Syed Monjurul Islam

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) celebrated Teachers’ Day 2025 with great enthusiasm. The event featured a discussion session focused on honoring educators and discussing the role of teaching in shaping society. The program began with a moment of silence for Syed Monjurul Islam, a respected teacher and scholar.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, was the Chief Guest and paid tribute to the teachers who influenced his life, emphasizing the lasting impact educators have through mentorship and moral guidance. Mr. Thawhidul Kabir, the Assistant Professor and Chairman of the Department of Management, highlighted the importance of teachers in shaping the future.

The event included a special felicitation ceremony for Prof. Santi Narayan Ghosh, Director of IQAC, known for his dedication to higher education. Prof. Dr. Syed Masud Husain praised Prof. Ghosh’s scholarly work and his contribution to academic quality. Professor Md. Abu Saleh, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, spoke on the importance of protecting teachers’ rights and ensuring their role in educational policy-making.

Prof. Ghosh, in his address, shared insights from his teaching career and stressed the need for teachers to inspire inquiry, compassion, and resilience in their students. Two students also shared personal stories, expressing their gratitude for the guidance of their teachers. The event was attended by university officials, faculty members, and staff.
