Bulgarian Church goes digital with new app for faithful
The Bulgarian Orthodox Church launched a mobile application on the Day of the People’s Awakeners with approval from its Holy Synod, offering digital access to religious materials and church information. The app provides resources such as the Old and New Testament scriptures, daily news updates, a church calendar, prayer collections, saint biographies and video content through a user-friendly interface.
Church leaders developed the platform to connect with younger generations by delivering quick and relevant information about both national church activities and personal spiritual guidance for Orthodox Christians. Future updates will expand the app’s capabilities to feature the Church Gazette, the official print publication, along with materials from the Synodal Publishing House.
The Holy Synod seeks to modernize communication channels while maintaining traditional religious teachings. Officials hope the digital tool will serve as a bridge between contemporary technology and ancient faith practices, making Orthodox Christianity more accessible to tech-savvy believers.
