Bus fire kills 20 on Bengaluru-Hyderabad route
A collision between a private bus and a motorcycle triggered a fuel leak fire that claimed at least 20 lives on the highway connecting Bengaluru and Hyderabad. District revenue official A Siri reported that rescue teams had saved 21 of the 41 passengers aboard the bus. Authorities identified 11 bodies from those who perished in the crash. India recorded approximately 180,000 traffic deaths nationwide last year despite ranking as the world’s third-largest automotive market.
A comparable incident occurred last month in Rajasthan when a private bus fire killed 19 passengers.
