BRTA gives Tk29 lakh aid to victims’ kin

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority distributed 2.9 million taka to eight families affected by traffic fatalities and injuries in Joypurhat district. Chairman Abu Momtaz Saad Uddin Ahmed presented the compensation checks at the District Collectorate Conference Room on Thursday evening. Deputy Commissioner Afroza Akhtar Chowdhury presided over the ceremony.

Additional District Magistrate Mohaimena Sharmin attended the event with District Motor Vehicle Inspector Ramkrishna Poddar. Joypurhat District Motor Workers Union President Himmat Ali and District Safe Roads Organization President Nur-e-Alam joined other officials at the gathering. The authority provided financial support to relatives of victims from separate road crashes.
