Chelsea blocks Real Madrid move for Enzo Fernandez at £120m
Real Madrid wants to bring in Enzo Fernandez, the Argentine midfielder, as one of coach Xabi Alonso’s main transfer targets. Chelsea, however, has thrown up a wall by demanding at least £120 million to even start talks, making Madrid’s pursuit much tougher given other financial obligations.
Chelsea views Fernandez as a core player under coach Enzo Maresca and will not sell unless a huge offer lands, especially after his strong showings since arriving from Benfica in January 2023. Real Madrid has kept tabs on him for months but faces trouble meeting Chelsea’s price, with top names already packed into their midfield. Unless a giant offer appears, Fernandez looks set to stay in London.
