Chelsea manager Maresca banned for touchline misconduct
Enzo Maresca, the Chelsea manager, has been banned from the touchline for one match and fined 8,000 pounds after admitting to misconduct during their 2-1 win over Liverpool.
Maresca celebrated Chelsea’s late winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time by running down the touchline, which led to him getting a second yellow card and being sent off by referee Anthony Taylor. The Football Association said Maresca’s actions included improper behavior and possible use of insulting words, which caused his dismissal.
Maresca will miss Chelsea’s upcoming match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Chelsea is currently seventh in the Premier League with 11 points.
