Construction progresses on Yangon’s National Cancer Unit

Myanmar’s construction ministry inspected cancer hospital expansion work on Friday morning as Deputy Minister U Myo Myint examined the National Cancer Treatment Agency facility being built in Yangon. Officials from the Buildings Department briefed the deputy minister at an on-site conference hall about financial year accomplishments spanning urban utilities, water systems and electrical infrastructure while outlining future objectives.

U Myo Myint directed engineers to follow structural blueprints when installing shear walls and beams under quality control supervision to withstand seismic activity. He emphasized creating sanitary conditions for patients and proper drainage systems surrounding the medical complex. The deputy minister stressed adherence to civil service standards and called on staff to execute assignments with collective commitment while supporting national transportation and infrastructure priorities.

Radiation treatment areas on the lower level already serve patients at the eight-floor building. Construction teams aim to finish upper floors before the fiscal year ends. The deputy minister and hospital administrators walked through active work zones to verify material quality and craftsmanship standards. Special Task Force 1 engineers described completed projects during the morning session.
