Crimson Collective hackers claim Nintendo breach, leak files
Rumors are swirling that Nintendo has landed in the crosshairs of the hacker group Crimson Collective, according to a fresh online report. Hackmanac, a cyber intelligence firm, claims the group shared images of alleged Nintendo files and boasted about grabbing the company’s data. Nintendo has kept silent, offering no confirmation or denial, leaving the story unverified as of Thursday morning.
Crimson Collective has already hit several companies this month. They recently broke into Red Hat’s private GitHub and stole a haul of 570GB, with the company later confirming the breach and revealing extortion threats. If the Nintendo hit is real, similar demands could be in play. Attacks like this are nothing new in gaming, as big studios have seen project leaks and personal data dumps before.
