DCI Amin consoles IG Kanja after father’s death in Laikipia

Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin visited Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja on Monday to express condolences following the death of Kanja’s father, Mzee Weston Kirocho Kanja, who passed away on Oct. 14. Amin offered support to the grieving family on behalf of the DCI, but the burial is set for Thursday at the family home in Thome Village, Laikipia County.

The visit occurred as Kenya continued mourning former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who was buried on Sunday at his Opoda Farm in Bondo after a state funeral attended by President William Ruto and retired President Uhuru Kenyatta. Ruto posthumously awarded Raila the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart for his democratic contributions, while Kenyatta returned on Monday for a private visit to the grave with family members.
