Delhi BJP hails Supreme Court’s green cracker decision, slams Kejriwal govt
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to allow the use of green firecrackers in Delhi during Diwali, criticizing the former Arvind Kejriwal government for being “anti-Hindu.” He argued that firecrackers were unfairly blamed for winter pollution, pointing out that other significant causes contribute to pollution.
Sachdeva claimed that the Kejriwal government had presented misleading data, leading to the previous firecracker bans. He praised the current government for presenting accurate information to the Supreme Court, securing permission for firecrackers. The Supreme Court’s decision allows the sale and use of NEERI-approved green crackers in Delhi and the NCR, with strict regulations on timing and monitoring to limit pollution.
