Dengue death toll hits 242 in Bangladesh with 758 new cases

In Bangladesh, four people died from dengue in the 24 hours leading up to Wednesday morning, bringing the total fatalities in 2025 to 242. During this period, 758 more people were hospitalized, raising the total number of cases to 57,105. Currently, 2,655 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals.

The government has introduced new guidelines for hospitals to improve dengue care. Hospitals must set up dedicated wards, provide necessary treatments, and ensure proper facilities like NS-1 tests and emergency care. A special team of doctors and nurses will focus on treating dengue patients. Additionally, hospitals must work with local authorities for mosquito control and cleanliness around their premises.
