Denkov calls budget demands brazen

A senior figure in the We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria coalition has criticized what he characterized as aggressive and imbalanced elements in the national budget proposal. Nikolay Denkov, recently appointed as deputy chairman, told a television program that recent legislative maneuvers, including a brief energy committee session addressing Lukoil matters, demonstrated a governing style prioritizing force over consultation.

Denkov suggested that opposition parties had spent two weeks requesting information about fuel security plans without receiving adequate responses. He contrasted previous political approaches with current tactics, indicating that attempts to bypass parliamentary cooperation carry risks for effective governance.

The coalition has finalized its organizational framework and approved protocols for an ethics commission, including mandatory training for members on handling improper offers. Denkov emphasized that the structure eliminates ambiguity in ethical decision-making processes.
