Dhaka metro rail extends hours, increases trips from October 19
Starting from 19 October, authorities have decided to extend the operational hours and increase the frequency of trains on the MRT Line-6 to meet passenger demand. The first train from Uttara North will now depart at 6:40 AM, and the last train will leave at 9:30 PM. From Motijheel, the first train will leave at 7:00 AM, and the last train at 10:10 PM. On Fridays, trains will start at 2:30 PM, half an hour earlier. By mid-November, 238 trips will operate daily, with intervals of 4, 6, and 8 minutes during peak, off-peak, and super off-peak hours. The number of trains running will increase from 13 to 19 sets, and daily ridership is expected to rise from 4.5 lakh to 5 lakh.
