Dyche’s Forest falls short in 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth

Nottingham Forest lost 2-0 at Bournemouth on Sunday as new manager Sean Dyche began his tenure with the struggling club. The defeat marked Dyche’s second straight loss to Bournemouth after his final match with Everton ended the same way in January. Forest sits third from bottom with five points after conceding both goals before halftime.

Dyche blamed fitness issues for his squad’s poor performance against an aggressive opponent. The former Everton boss said his players struggled to match Bournemouth’s pressing style after just five days of preparation. Forest faces fixture congestion from Europa League commitments while adjusting to their third permanent manager this season.

Bournemouth climbed to second place with 18 points, sitting four points behind Arsenal after another strong result. Manager Andoni Iraola cautioned that small margins separate teams this season despite his side’s impressive start to the campaign.
