Guardiola admits City lacked aggression in Villa loss

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged his team lacked intensity after their first defeat since August, a 1-0 loss at Aston Villa on Sunday that ended a nine-match unbeaten streak across all competitions. The setback leaves City trailing league leaders Arsenal by six points after collecting just 13 from their last five Premier League fixtures.

Guardiola said his squad performed better after halftime but failed to capitalize on the chances it created. The Spanish coach praised his team’s overall league form and expressed confidence that they would continue improving as the season progresses.

City faces second-place Bournemouth next Sunday as they attempt to close the gap at the top of the table. Guardiola has guided the club to six league championships since arriving in 2016.
