Eze’s goal gives Arsenal win over Palace and extends lead

Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 on Sunday as Eberechi Eze scored against his former club to push the leaders four points clear at the top of the Premier League. Eze converted a rebound in the 39th minute after Gabriel Magalhaes redirected Declan Rice’s free kick into his path, giving Arsenal 22 points from nine matches.

The victory stretched Arsenal’s unbeaten streak to six league games and opened a six-point gap over Manchester City, who fell to fourth place after losing at Aston Villa. Manager Mikel Arteta praised his team’s ninth clean sheet in 12 matches across all competitions this season.

Palace defender Chris Richards said his side failed to capitalize on limited chances against the league’s strongest defense. Arsenal pressed hard in the second half but could not add to their lead despite several close attempts from Bukayo Saka and others.
