Frenkie de Jong signs new Barcelona deal until 2029
Barcelona announced that Frenkie de Jong renewed his contract until June 2029. The signing took place at Spotify Camp Nou, with the club president and officials present. De Jong’s new contract includes a release clause of 500 million euros, up from 400 million in his previous deal.
Reports say the delay in the renewal was due to past issues with his former agent, Ali Dursun. Dutch lawyer Sebastian Ledur handled the negotiations for the new deal. De Jong has played 266 matches for Barcelona, making him one of the club’s top foreign players.
