GST cut on bio-pesticides to boost farmers in Koppal
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that lowering the GST on bio-pesticides and micronutrients will directly benefit farmers. She spoke after opening a training center for agro-processing in Koppal district and said that Prime Minister Modi’s guidance led to simpler GST rules.
She highlighted that under the PM-Kisan scheme, farmers receive Rs 6,000 a year directly into their bank accounts. In Karnataka, over 43 lakh farmers benefit from this scheme. The government has also launched the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana to improve farming in 100 districts, including Koppal.
Additionally, the PM-FME scheme supports local food processing businesses. It has released over Rs 3,700 crore for micro food processing and trained over one lakh entrepreneurs.
