Nepal mourns Bipin Joshi’s death after Hamas hostage ordeal
Interim Nepalese Prime Minister Sushila Karki expressed deep sorrow over the death of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali national whose body was handed over by Hamas to Israel. Joshi, 23, had been working and studying in Israel when the October 7 attacks occurred.
Karki paid tribute to Joshi, calling him a shining example of Nepali youth abroad. She praised his courage during the attack, noting that he saved many lives before being taken hostage.
The government of Israel expressed condolences and offered full assistance for the repatriation of Joshi’s body. Nepal’s Foreign Secretary confirmed that the embassy is working with Israeli authorities to bring Joshi home.
