Gutu residents receive free medical services in healthcare outreach
In a strong show of commitment to improving healthcare access, over 1,000 residents of Gutu Central received free medical services during a weekend outreach led by local legislator Honourable Winston Chitando. The event, offering essential health services like dental care, chronic disease screening, and primary healthcare consultations, has been hailed as a vital step toward President Mnangagwa’s vision for universal healthcare and rural development.
Residents from Chesvingo and Mupandawana Growth Point expressed gratitude, saying the initiative was a lifeline for those struggling to access specialist care. “This programme has been a great help, especially for those who can’t see doctors regularly,” said Constance Mudyiwa, a beneficiary.
Dr. Malvern Muzerengi, who led the medical team, highlighted the outreach’s success in providing care while promoting healthier lifestyles to combat rising chronic conditions. Honourable Chitando stressed that the initiative aligns with the government’s Vision 2030, ensuring equal healthcare access for rural and urban communities.
