Halle Bailey opens up on postpartum journey

Halle Bailey discussed her postpartum journey on The Jennifer Hudson Show and addressed her advocacy work for new mothers. The 25-year-old actress received recognition from the City of Los Angeles for her efforts to raise awareness of postpartum challenges. She explained that sharing her experience felt necessary after giving birth to her son, Halo, who is 22 months old.

Bailey emphasized that young women in their mid-20s need strong support systems after childbirth. She stated that discussing postpartum emotions and hormonal changes helps others feel less isolated. The actress believes openness prepares expectant mothers for what lies ahead.

The Color Purple star welcomed Halo with former partner DDG in December 2023. Bailey told Hudson that motherhood allows her to rediscover childhood joy through activities like painting. She said raising her son teaches her valuable lessons while reconnecting her with her younger self.
