Harsh Vardhan Shringla praises India-Russia defense ties
Former Foreign Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Vardhan Shringla stated on Thursday that Russia remains India’s largest supplier of advanced military systems. He highlighted the evolution of defense cooperation from imports to joint development, co-production, and technology transfer, aligning with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
Shringla praised the resilience of the India-Russia partnership, which has endured global changes and upheavals. He mentioned Russia’s continued support for India’s bid for a permanent seat in the UN Security Council.
He also emphasized the significance of the BrahMos missile as a symbol of co-innovation between the two nations. Shringla recalled seeing panels of Operation Sindoor in Durga Puja celebrations in Siliguri, showcasing local pride in India’s defense capabilities.
