Hegseth warns Russia, urges NATO to act on Ukraine

On Wednesday, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned Moscow that the U.S. and its allies would make Russia pay for its continued aggression if the war in Ukraine doesn’t end. He said the U.S. is ready to take necessary steps, but did not explain what actions would be taken. Hegseth urged both Moscow and Kyiv to seek peace, calling the war’s end a moral and geopolitical necessity.

Hegseth also called on NATO allies to contribute more to Ukraine’s defense. He stressed that strength, not just words, leads to peace. While smaller countries pledged support, larger allies like France and Britain have not yet increased their contributions. The U.S. wants NATO countries to take action to end the war.
