Hiker found dead at Mount Liang after two-day search

A man who was reported missing while hiking at Mount Liang in Tanjong Malim was found dead yesterday. Mustaqqeem Mansoor, 34, from Sungai Petani, Kedah, was located at 3:30 pm at the summit of West Mount Liang.

The Search and Rescue (SAR) operation, involving 22 personnel from multiple agencies, applied the LAST concept and followed the hiking trail to locate him. Mustaqqeem had been hiking with 10 friends from Fraser’s Hill on October 10 and was last seen on October 14 around 10:30 pm, walking slowly with a leg injury.

Due to weather conditions, the use of a helicopter to bring him down was delayed. A second rescue team ascended to the summit and planned to bring the victim down at 9 am the next day.
