MACC to test AI procurement system in Johor to boost integrity
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is developing an AI-driven procurement system to improve transparency and integrity in government operations, with a trial set to begin in Johor. MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki emphasized that Johor’s rapid growth increases the risk of large-scale corruption, and the state must focus on integrity.
At a MACC engagement session with Johor assemblymen, Azam assured that MACC would help strengthen governance in the state. Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi expressed the state’s full commitment to working with MACC to improve governance and boost investor confidence.
Onn Hafiz also supported MACC’s Keep Malaysia Clean (KMC) campaign, suggesting Johor adopt a “Keep Johor Clean” spirit to align with the state’s goals for integrity and good governance.
