Hungary preps for Putin-Trump summit in Budapest
Hungary and Russia are talking about plans for a meeting between Russian President Putin and US President Trump in Budapest. Hungary’s Foreign Minister Szijjarto said he spoke with Putin’s adviser, Ushakov, and confirmed the talks are moving ahead. Prime Minister Orban also said he had a phone call with Putin.
Szijjarto said Hungary will make sure the talks are safe and that Putin can travel freely. Orban added that Hungary is happy to host the meeting, calling it good news for peace.
Trump and Putin first agreed on the summit after a long phone call. Both leaders said it was a helpful talk.
