Trump renews $15 billion defamation lawsuit against NY Times

US President Trump has filed a new defamation lawsuit against The New York Times, its reporters, and Penguin Random House for $15 billion. He claims the paper lied about him for years and worked for the “Radical Left Democratic Party.” Trump also said the paper supported his 2024 opponent, Kamala Harris, in an illegal way.

The first lawsuit was rejected for being too political. The new one, filed on Thursday, is exactly 40 pages long and leaves out some earlier claims. Trump’s lawyers say the statements hurt his reputation, and they want money and retractions. The New York Times said it will not be intimidated.
