IAAA staff threaten strike over pay, staffing demands
Employees at the Executive Agency Automobile Administration plan mass protests after management failed to address workplace concerns. More than 60 percent of workers support demands for wage equalization, a 50 percent salary increase, and reinstatement of civil servants dismissed after Jan. 1, 2025. The strike committee seeks 600 additional positions in regional departments and a collective labor agreement with the Podkrepa trade union. Workers warn they will launch indefinite strike action if Executive Director Slav Monov refuses negotiations, but will maintain operations for activities deemed vital during the protest.
