Glishev brands Georgiev a traitor over Putin air corridor offer
Manol Glishev labeled Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev a traitor on Facebook after Georgiev stated Bulgaria would provide an air corridor for Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach Budapest for talks with US President Donald Trump. Glishev recalled meeting Georgiev in 2015 through the youth wing of GERB and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. He contrasted the current position with former Prime Minister Ivan Kostov’s 1999 refusal to grant Russian forces an air corridor to Kosovo.
Glishev accused Georgiev and GERB of replicating Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s approach. He characterized the decision as a betrayal of Europe, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and humanity. Glishev demanded punishment for Georgiev and condemned GERB’s alignment with Russian interests.
