Zarkov says mafia rule talk paralyzes Bulgaria’s progress
Former Justice Minister Krum Zarkov stated the nation cannot progress while debating mafia influence in government. He predicted all parties involved in the Pazardzhik election controversy would suffer losses. Borisov weakened his position by demonstrating power before quickly retreating within hours.
The Bulgarian Socialist Party displayed itself in a degrading position by signaling readiness to cooperate with anyone. Zarkov suggested Peevski also loses despite his perceived strength because his minor Municipal Council victory in Pazardzhik triggered national instability. The former minister argued Bulgarians reject Peevski’s leadership.
Zarkov criticized the government for formally incorporating Peevski into its structure rather than confronting public concerns. He warned that this miscalculation would create upheaval regardless of whether the administration extends its existence. The former minister emphasized that citizens face daily problems requiring state management solutions that they cannot resolve independently.
