Ichung’wah demands Ruto’s intervention in Kiambu health crisis after 100+ deaths

Kiambu County is facing a deadly health crisis, and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah is calling on President William Ruto to step in. Over 100 children and several mothers have tragically died recently, and Ichung’wah blasted local leaders for letting political squabbles get in the way of saving lives.

He pointed out that despite having healthcare facilities, doctors have been forced to strike because the Kiambu government refuses to engage with them. Ichung’wah also slammed the county for charging patients registered under the Social Health Authority, despite national directives to the contrary.

The situation has gotten so bad that KMPDU is planning a demonstration in Kiambu, demanding accountability and better conditions for doctors. It’s time for leaders to stop playing politics with people’s lives, Ichung’wah said.
