India, Australia boost clean energy cooperation

Pralhad Joshi, India’s Minister of New and Renewable Energy, met with Australian Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Chris Bowen, on Thursday to discuss boosting cooperation in the clean energy sector. They agreed to encourage manufacturing and technology sharing by adopting each other’s best practices.

During the meeting, the leaders launched the India-Australia Green Hydrogen Taskforce report, which sets a clear direction for collaboration in clean energy. Bowen emphasized that India should view Australia as a key partner in its energy transition. The two leaders also planned further discussions under the India-Australia Energy Dialogue.

This partnership follows the ambitions shared by Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Anthony Albanese at the 2023 G20 Summit, aiming to accelerate climate action and renewable energy development.
