India beats New Zealand 4-2 in Sultan of Johor Cup

The Indian junior men’s hockey team cruised to a 4-2 victory over New Zealand on Sunday, keeping their unbeaten streak intact in the 2025 Sultan of Johor Cup. Arshdeep Singh, PB Sunil, Araijeet Singh Hundal, and Roman Kumur were the heroes for India, while New Zealand’s Gus Nelson and Aidan Max found the net.

India wasted no time, with Arshdeep opening the scoring in the second minute after a rebound. PB Sunil doubled the lead with a drag-flick in the final minute of the first quarter. Araijeet’s goal in the 26th minute made it 3-0, and Kumur added another in the 47th minute.

Despite New Zealand’s efforts, including goals from Nelson and Max, India’s defense held firm, securing the win. Up next, India faces arch-rivals Pakistan on October 14.
