Afghanistan warns Pakistan over border tensions after retaliatory strike

Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, blasted a few troublemakers in Pakistan, claiming they are stirring up chaos along the border. In a press conference in New Delhi, Muttaqi responded to the recent flare-up on the Durand Line, after Pakistan launched airstrikes on Kabul and Paktika on October 9.

Muttaqi made it clear that the Afghan government has no issue with the peaceful Pakistani people or their politicians, but some individuals in power are pushing for conflict. Afghanistan, he stressed, will do whatever it takes to protect its citizens.

He confirmed that the situation along the border is calm for now, following Afghanistan’s retaliatory strikes. The Taliban’s spokesperson later revealed that 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the clash, while 20 Pakistani posts were destroyed.
