India boosts fielding ahead of World Cup clash with England

The Indian women’s cricket team is intensifying their preparations for the crucial 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup match against England, scheduled for Sunday, with a focused fielding session at Holkar Stadium. After two losses to South Africa and Australia, the team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, is concentrating on improving their fielding ahead of the match in Indore.

Fielding coach Munish Bali explained the goal of the session was to adapt to the conditions and practice under pressure, covering high catches, ground fielding, direct hits, and pressure situations. Bali introduced a challenging drill where players score points for successful direct hits or catches but reset their score to zero if they make a mistake, simulating the pressure of a real match.

India is currently fourth in the points table with four points, while England leads with seven points. To stay in the semi-final race, India must win their remaining games against England, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.
