India calls for global unity against cross-border terrorism at NAM
Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh emphasized the importance of global cooperation in combating cross-border terrorism at the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Mid-Term Ministerial in Kampala, Uganda. Singh highlighted that terrorism is a shared global threat that requires deeper international collaboration to address. He noted that India has been a victim of cross-border terrorism, most recently in the Pahalgam attack in Jammu & Kashmir in April 2025, and criticized countries that support terrorism, particularly targeting Pakistan.
Singh called for zero tolerance toward terrorism within the NAM, stressing that any support or cover-up for terrorism would have consequences. He also pointed out that India’s development partnership with 78 countries, its role in supplying vaccines during the pandemic, and its leadership in initiatives like the International Solar Alliance and Global Biofuels Alliance showcase India’s commitment to global prosperity.
Earlier, Singh met Uganda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, and discussed strengthening cooperation in areas such as trade, defense, and development.
