India fined for slow over-rate in World Cup loss to Australia

The ICC fined the Indian women’s cricket team led by Harmanpreet Kaur for a slow over-rate during their World Cup match against Australia on Sunday. India fell one over short of the required target, resulting in a 5% fine of their match fee under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct. Harmanpreet Kaur accepted the charge, and no formal hearing was needed.

India lost the match as Australia, led by Alyssa Healy’s 142 off 107 balls, completed a record-breaking chase to win by three wickets. Healy’s century helped Australia reach 331/7, the highest successful chase in World Cup history. India will next play England on October 19 in Indore.
