Istrian truffles fetch €17500 at London auction

Istrian white truffles sold for 17,500 euros at a charity event held at Sotheby’s auction house in London on Oct. 21. The Istria County Tourist Board organized the sale with specimens donated by the Karlić family from Paladini near Buzet. Three truffles weighing 525 grams, 175 grams and 120 grams attracted bidders to the New Bond Street location.

Proceeds will support the Veruda Day Rehabilitation Centre in Pula. The facility serves children with developmental challenges across Istria County through education and therapy programs. The Karlić family has produced truffles since 1966 and has built a reputation as a premium supplier.
