Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha arrives in Russia to bring back Lord Buddha’s relics

Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha arrived in Russia on Friday to bring back the holy relics of Lord Buddha to India after their exhibition in Elista, Kalmykia. He was welcomed by officials from Kalmykia and India’s Deputy Chief of Mission, Nikhilesh Giri.

The relics, which have been displayed at the Geden Sheddup Choikorling Monastery since October 11, will return to India on October 19. The exhibition was organized by India’s Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation, National Museum, and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.

Sinha thanked Prime Minister Modi for the opportunity to lead the delegation and expressed gratitude for the sacred task. The exhibition has helped promote Lord Buddha’s message of peace and strengthened India-Russia ties.
