Janhvi Kapoor honors Sridevi with poem
Actress Janhvi Kapoor shared a poem about her mother Sridevi while appearing on a talk show with hosts Twinkle Khanna and Kajol. The verse expressed her grief over losing maternal connection and finding her mother’s voice within her own. Sridevi died on Feb. 24, 2018, in Dubai from accidental drowning at age 54.
The superstar’s death occurred months before Kapoor’s first film release. Thousands attended the funeral procession through the streets of Mumbai. Producer Boney Kapoor’s children from different marriages grew closer after the tragedy.
Kapoor has appeared in multiple films since her debut. Her sister Khushi entered the cinema in 2023 with The Archies and later acted opposite Ibrahim Ali Khan. Kapoor’s recent project, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, earned more than 100 crore rupees.
The film featured Varun Dhawan, Rohit Saraf, Sania Malhotra, and Maniesh Paul. Critics offered mixed assessments while praising Kapoor’s performance. She read the emotional tribute on the program Two Much, alongside Kajol, Twinkle, and director Karan Johar.
