Shah Rukh Khan mourns Piyush Pandey
Shah Rukh Khan remembered advertising executive Piyush Pandey after his death on Friday at age 70. The Bollywood actor described working with Pandey as effortless and praised the magic he brought to campaigns. Khan said Pandey carried his genius lightly as he transformed India’s advertising sector.
Actor Gajraj Rao compared Pandey to military leader Sam Manekshaw and called him the general of Indian advertising. Rao highlighted Pandey’s grasp of rural India and his ability to build relationships across experience levels. The actor said Pandey’s unique talent and courage made him irreplaceable.
Pandey held the Padma Shri award and worked as Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Worldwide at Ogilvy. He died after an infection worsened. The agency announced his peaceful passing and acknowledged the profound loss to the advertising community.
