JD(U) MP Ajay Mandal seeks LS exit over snub

Ajay Kumar Mandal, JD(U) MP from Bhagalpur, has asked to quit the Lok Sabha, just ahead of the Bihar polls. In a letter to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he said local voices were being shut out and ticket picks were being made without input from district leaders. Mandal said he felt ignored, despite years of loyalty and winning his seat when others didn’t. He also said he hasn’t been allowed to meet the chief minister.

He called his letter a warning, not rebellion, and said he only wants the party to stay strong. He criticized the rise of outsiders in key roles while long-time workers get sidelined. The MP said staying silent would go against party values. He asked Nitish to let him step down with dignity.
